[Hungarian National Museum, Budapest, Hungary]
May 15 to 16, 2023
The objective of these two days was to analyse the corrosion products on silver-based objects from archaeological sites and dating from the
1st century A.D to the 4th century A.D (ewer of the Seuso silver hoard) using Pleco. Some comparison were also be made with fragments of the Vinkovci hoard, Zagreb, Croatia, also dating to the 4th century A.D.
The IG team contributed to setting up of a full Pleco device at the Hungarian National Museum, which was tested then on the objects mentioned above. We hope that this workshop will initiate some dynamic collaboration on the use of electrolytic techniques for the analysis and electrolytic cleaning of metal heritage in Central Europe.
